Star of Killarney

A twin screw diesel yacht of mahogany carvel construction, Star of Killarney was built in 1962 by The Rampart Boatbuilding Company Limited of Southampton.

She is reputed to have acted as support boat to Prime Minister Ted Heath’s Morning Cloud in the 1970s. During the 1990s she was based in Spain for commercial use and after that spent a short while providing trips for White Cliff Harbour Tours in Dover before being acquired by her current owners.

We were tasked with carrying out an extensive restoration and alteration project to this Rampart 48 in 2001/2002, creating a very fine and luxurious charter vessel to be based in Chichester Marina. In 2012 she took part in the Queen’s Jubilee Pageant!
